Carolina Fernandez knew she hit a nerve when her guest appearance on FOX's "Your World
with Neil Cavuto" prompted emails from listeners all over the world. While some moms wrote to Carolina confessing
of driving junkie cars and giving up corporate perks in order to stay home with their kids, others wrote of the unexpected
joys of working while babies were still in the nest.
Carolina's interview also had the shocking effect of propelling her little-known book, ROCKET
MOM! 7 Strategies To Blast You Into Brilliance, to parenting best-seller status on Amazon. "It was because moms everywhere,
regardless of their position, their years into motherhood, or how they solve the parenting equation, still grope for answers
to this most perplexing job, " Fernandez claims. As she stated in the interview: "It's hard to feel like you're changing the
world when you're spreading the peanut butter on the bread. Hard to feel self-actualized. To feel like what you're doing in
the home is making a difference. And that working while raising toddlers has its own set of issues. And moms want practical
solutions to these dilemmas."
She's the first to admit that motherhood's inherent everyday creative challenges make any
challenges faced while both earning her M.B.A. and her stripes at IBM and Merrill Lynch look like child's play.
Somewhere along the nearly twenty years into the role, she completely reinvented herself.
"I probably reinvented myself each time another baby came along," laughs this mother of four. Combining the analytical
skills acquired while working in the business world with the artistic sensibilities acquired while raising four kids--including
a decade of homeschooling along the way--she developed a "brainy meets zany" approach to parenting. She calls it "creative
motherhood," even though many moms scratch their heads at the perceived oxymoron. Not feeling particularly creative while
throwing that fifth load of laundry into the dryer? Or while driving around town to the umpteenth soccer practice of
the week? Pop open Carolina's book to discover ways to make the job more fun.
"Somewhere during those years of homeschooling, moms started asking me for advice. I think
because they figured that if I was homeschooling, I knew what I was doing!" Carolina chuckles.
Hardly. She admits to bumbling through more days than she can hit with a stick.
To enduring one failure after another, as she searched for answers to everyday dilemmas as well as solid wisdom to carry her
through the years.
She looks around, after nearly two decades "on the job," and observes that moms come
into motherhood from a great variety of perspectives. And she doesn't think it matters all that much how one arrives. It's
once there that Carolina hopes to play a role.
"I have a real heart for mothers, " Carolina states. "I've learned, as I share my journey
with others through parenting seminars and workshops, keynotes and coffees, and through my Newsletter which now spins
to readers in five continents across the globe, that the navigational systems used by moms around the world construct
very different charts...but that as we're swept through motherhood's inherently turbulent waters, we find ourselves, in the
end, in the same proverbial boat."
As Carolina attempts to "ring lead" the international sisterhood of mothers across the globe
with her newly-formed ROCKET MOM SOCIETY, she echoes the sentiment so freely shared by complete strangers and friends alike:
we moms face a universal search for wisdom as well as strikingly similar challenges in meeting our everyday dilemmas head-on.
We all want to know how to cope with the terrible two's as well as how to keep our girls looking wholesome in the age of Madonna
and Britney. How to keep on top of technology's increasing role in our kids' lives in the age of online pornography and
internet predators. How to preserve family relationships when travel takes spouses halfway across the globe and when
business moves at the speed of thought. How to keep the cultural divide from swallowing us all up. Or how to meet the firestorm
of the destructive aspects of pop culture when our personal arsenal seems to have the power of a squirt gun.
We acknowledge that as cradle-rockers and vision-casters, we possess the unique privilege
of shaping the world. And, together, we try to do just that. But we need proven, hands-on strategies. Conversations with others.
"Peer parenting, " for we admit that no one person has all the answers. To try what has worked for others...and
learn from other's failures. To forge ahead with creativity in our own families...and step back when best-laid plans backfire.
We'd like to share this journey with you. For motherhood is a process. It is by embracing
its difficulties...as well as its joys...that we all move forward. Welcome aboard. So glad to have you.
“I have
discovered you in the Cavuto’s program and quickly I have bought the book that I have given to a teacher because I find
the book very interesting. My eldest kid has started violin…without passion but following your book, the mastery will
come late, years. I buy again the book because for myself because it is very helpful. You are very special.” Flor
Alvarez Fernandez, mother of two in Spain

"I could not be more excited to review and highly recommend
Carolina's book, ROCKET MOM! From work to Motherhood to Womanhood and all parts in-between, this book is the complete package
for surviving and thriving in the complexities of modern Moms! I originally got a copy for my CEO "chief of EVERYTHING officer"
wife and Mom to our three kids. Carolina's approach and outlook on life is entrepreneurial and it is refreshingly practical.
Carolina Fernandez is the real deal and ROCKET MOM! is one book to own yourself and about ten to give away to the 'Rocket
Moms' in your life! Bravo!"

"Thank you for such a wonderful book. I am twelve years
into mothering, with three children (20 months, 6 years, and 12). I've read ALL the books out there, but yours is
so straightforward, loving, practical, and inspiring. All at the same time! I'm loving every page of it and I know I
will continue to use it for years to come. My biggest challenge is staying in touch with my playful, creative side,
and you've convinced me I need to work harder to do that. In the few days I've been consciously promoting creativity,
I've seen a difference in my children: less stress, more smiles, and no arguments! I feel more grounded, too, and
that is a very good thing."
